Oww and you’ll need a small 1cm magnet for the prosperity tracker but if you got thus far you should have all the materials and you can be as creative as you want with it 🙂 If you were able to get the 55,88 x 55,88 cm frame, now the only thing that’s left is to put your magnetic map inside and you’re all set and done! If you went for the 60 x 60 cm frame, you’ll first have to stick the magnetic map to the back of the frame in the very center (best to stick it with double-sided tape) and fill the ugly gaps with passe-partout. You can see it on my picture (I made this white frame myself out of A4 paper, glued together but most of the time you’ll be able to buy it together with the frame). You’ll have to make sure that it comes with the so-called passe-partout, which is a fancy name for a flat piece of paper-based material included within a picture frame, which serves as additional decoration. You can also find a more common 60 x 60 cm frame as I did that will be slightly too big. Some companies however make custom frames and maybe they’ll be able to help you. You can find a frame which will be an exact match for 55,88 x 55,88 cm map size – it can be hard to find one, as it’s not a common size. When it comes to the frame you have 2 options. Simply put passe-partout is a white border made out of paper.
Most of them will be able to print the whole map in one piece, so you won’t have to cut it out! But you’ll still have to glue the map to the ferromagnetic film so that it will have magnetic properties, in order to do so make sure you print it on a self adhesive paper.
If you don’t have a printer or you don’t want to spend your evening making a map out of 6 different pieces you can go to the nearest printing office in your area. This will require 4 sheets of photo paper ready at hand.
Make sure to select the Size printing option and check the Actual size tickbox. Print them on A4 Photo Glossy or Matt Paper.

Download the files from BGG: Gloomhaven Locations, Gloomhaven Achievements. You should do the same with the locations and achievements. Since it’s a self adhesive paper, after cutting you’ll be able you stick it to the ferromagnetic film, which is a fairly inexpensive paper-thin special foil that works with magnets (it imitates metal surface and attracts magnets but you can’t make magnets out of it, that’s why for making magnets we need a magnetic tape). Once you finish the printing process, you’ll notice that you have the whole map separated into 6 pieces that you need to carefully cut out. For a reference check the settings on the picture below: Now select that you want to print a Poster. Make sure to select your printer name and go into its Properties settings to select the best quality and the proper type of paper – I won’t cover this step as it’s different for every printer. To do that simply open the map in Adobe Reader DC and press CTRL+P (or File -> Print).
Fortunately, we can can use a nifty print Poster feature to split the map nicely into 6 sheets of paper. Gloomhaven map is 55,88 x 55,88 cm in size so you might think it’s too big for home printing on regular A4 paper size. Now, if you have a printer and a nice quality Matt Photo Paper Sheets, you can print the map by yourself. I’ll describe both the minimal-work-approach and do-it-all-by-yourself route.įirstly, you need to get your new map printed as you want to preserve your current board intact!
